A choice of two bargain CMV cruises in October

Cruise and Maritime Voyages (CMV) www.cruiseandmaritime.com 0844 998 3877 has two bargain cruises available next month. The company’s new flagship Columbus sails from London – Tilbury  Monday 2 October on a 12 night cruise travelling South and visiting five different countries. Fares from just £699pp. Later in the month 25 October, CMV’s classic ocean liner Marco Polo departs from Bristol – Avonmouth 25 October on a 7 night cruise sailing to some of Europe’s finest medieval cities and picturesque rivers. This cruise fare starts from only £359pp.

Columbus 2 October leaves from Tilbury and heads to Amsterdam then down to La Pallice, near La Rochelle on the West coast of France. Getxo is the next call, close to Bilbao in Spain before continuing South to Portugal’s capital Lisbon and on to Gibraltar. On the voyage back to the UK a stop is made at La Coruña in Spain. Plenty of interest and contrast plus the weather should improve as you journey further South.

Marco Polo 25 October cruises out from Bristol Avonmouth and crosses over to Honfleur in Normandy and then to the delightful Belgium medieval city of Antwerp on the River Scheldt. On the way, to an overnight stop in Rouen, France you will cruise along the River Seine. After a week away you will return to Bristol  Avonmouth. Some good optional sightseeing opportunities including Rembrandt’s House in Antwerp and the relatively new Joan of Arc museum in Rouen.

The fare quoted is based on two people sharing a twin inner cabin and includes delicious full board cuisine, afternoon teas and late night snacks, Captain’s Cocktail Party, complimentary tea & coffee 6am to midnight, big show entertainment, cabarets and classical interludes, daytime activities and leisure facilities, guest speaker and arts & crafts, porterage of luggage, port to cabin and port taxes. For greater convenience CMV operate an automatic tipping system on board, so instead of worrying how much and when to tip, an amount of £5pp per night will be debited to the passenger’s on board account.
