Hurtigruten’s new ‘Flavour of Norway’ packages offer a short polar adventure that includes sailing past some of Norway’s most scenic fjords, mountains and islands, as well as offering some of the freshest Scandinavian food to be found.
The new five day trips include scheduled flights from Gatwick to Tromsø, where passengers will enjoy a 3 course meal in a local restaurant before boarding their Hurtigruten ship, heading southwards to Bergen. There are a multitude of experiences and activities on offer, from heading out to sea with local fishermen in the Lofoten Islands to joining a mountain hike that promises spectacular views over the fjords or exploring Trondheim’s impressive Gothic style Nidaros Cathedral.
Back on-board, passengers will enjoy delicious local cuisine, with delicacies and recipes sourced from along the route. On arrival in Bergen there is just time to take a stroll through the city’s UNESCO listed Bryggen district with its charming colourful wharfs, before flying back to London Gatwick.
Daily departures are on offer from 7 April to 4 October 2016.
Prices start from £745 per person on a choice of dates, including the 23 April departure on MS Kong Harald (based on two sharing an inside cabin on full board basis). Flights, transfers and a 3 course dinner in a local hotel on arrival in Tromsø are also included.
Options to extend your trip in either Tromsø or Bergen, are also available.
